ISAES 2011 Venue

Edinburgh is a World Heritage City at ease with hosting large conferences. ISAES XI is centred around Edinburgh University’s state-of-the-art John McIntyre Conference Centre and Pollock Halls, offering accommodation for up to 500 delegates and with stunning views of the timeless geological landmarks Salisbury Crags and Arthur’s Seat.

Tourist Attractions

The symposium will take place within walking distance of Edinburgh’s world-famous attractions such as: Edinburgh Castle, the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace, historical scientific sites such as Hutton’s Section and Agassiz Rock, and of course the many renowned restaurants and welcoming pubs. The 2011 Symposium will run in mid-July (10-16th), immediately before Edinburgh’s International Arts Festivals, allowing delegates to sample the city’s unique atmosphere.
